DOWNTOWN TROY PORTRAITS | SMITH FAMILY
This blog post is a sister story to one written by my very dear friend Carrie, another local photographer, and I absolutely adore her work! Our sons are just three days apart in age and we say they are best friends, even if they don’t know it yet! Several weeks ago we got our families together to have a no-stress portrait session trade off and it was equal parts awkward and fun. I think photographers have the hardest time getting their own portraits made because we are so critical of the process and often much more comfortable behind the lens than in front of it. Despite that, since our families are such close friends we were really able to let go and allow our true selves to shine through while enjoying time with our husbands and babies! Nearing the end of our session the light filtering down the trees was brilliant and made for a really warm finish to our portrait session, which we closed out with dinner atThe Shop (because supporting local business is so important, and the food there is uh-maze-ing)!
